A Day with DIRTEA
Celebrating International Mushroom Day
Last week, we joined our friends at DIRTEA for a day that brought together nature, nourishment, and connection – three things that sit at the core of both our worlds.
Set amongst the quiet edges of the Tower Hamlets, the day began with an introduction to the power of functional mushrooms – Reishi, Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, and Chaga. Each one offering something unique: focus, calm, energy, and balance. The team from DIRTEA guided us through their process, from sourcing and extraction to how they blend ancient knowledge with modern nutrition. Whilst we spoke through what it means to slow down and enjoy all parts of the outdoors.

After learning about their adaptogenic ingredients, we set out on a short hike through the cemetery. Autumn leaves underfoot, the air cool and damp, it felt like the perfect environment to put both our technical outerwear and mindfulness into practice. These small outdoor moments are what PMO is built for, to encourage exploration, even in the stillness found (when you can) in the city.
Later, we gathered for a tasting session led by the DIRTEA founders. We brewed their signature blend, shared stories, and winded down the session.

This collaboration reminded us that wellbeing isn’t just about performance – it’s about awareness. About taking time to slow down, to explore consciously, and to recognise that nature provides both challenge and restoration in equal measure.
